Please note, that when you self-request a blood test, we will forward you the results without note or comment from a practitioner unless you are under their care.
If you have been asked to get a test and have your own kit, this can be done in the clinic too, there is a £30 charge for blood draw only.
Coeliac Profile (Gluten IGG,IGA, Wheat IGE) - £171
The Celiac & Gluten Sensitivity Profile (Serum) helps differentiate between Coeliac Disease, gluten sensitivity and wheat allergy by evaluating the serum titers of IgA and IgG for tissue transglutaminase, deamidated gliadin peptide, gliadin, and gluten.
Wheat allergy is assessed by titers of IgE for wheat. This test is useful for patients with persistent skin conditions, idiopathic neurological conditions, autoimmune thyroiditis and arthritis, type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, unexplained weight loss and persistent gastrointestinal symptoms.
It can be useful for symptomatic patients who have tested positive for the HLA DQ2 / DQ8 genotypes and those who have symptom exacerbation from dietary gluten. It may be useful for patients with a family history of CD, elevated liver function tests, bone demineralisation and impaired absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, iron, B12 and folic acid.
The test may also be considered for any child with a history of 3 or more antibiotic-treated cases of gastroenteritis while less than 6 months of age.
